Kids Say the Darndest Things ~ Friday

Sunday evening, Emma and I finally got to go on our “date.”  We went to Steak ‘n Shake (her choice), then to the park, and then to Wal-Mart to get a new book (she wanted to go to “the book store,” but we didn’t have time to go to Lexington).

While we were at the park, she saw someone she knew.

Em:  I know that girl.  I think her name is Lily.

Daddy:  No, I think her name is Ashley.

Em:  No.  It’s Lily, Daddy.

Daddy:  Her shirt says “Ashley” on it.

Em:  Does my shirt say “Emma” on it?

Daddy:  Well, no, but…

Em:  Her name is Lily, Daddy.

For the record, Lily’s mom called her Ashley twice while we were there.
